Rotavated a little, planted a couple of miniature roses and grape vines.

Today in the garden I cleared a lot of leaves, planted Jolimont garlic and some Radar onions (maybe a little late with the onions tho?).

Yesterday I actually got to the plot!!

Dug and dug and wheel-barrowed compost and dug .......until it got dark and I was due to cook dinner

Did 3.5 hours today. Cut down the big patch of dandelions that had seed heads, thought it might pay dividends later on. Also pulled up a load of thistles and loads of wee weeds that had a smaller version of a dandelion's seed head (groundsel?). Cleared and dug over 2 of the raised beds that were choked with chickweed and dandelions as i'm planning on putting in some onions and garlic tomorrow bought from the allotment shop. Had to stop after this as i managed to strain my wrist turning the heavy clay soil in the bed that had the sprouts in.

Bit gutted as i wanted to fit a few bolts to doors, make more headway clearing the glass and put the redcurrant and blackcurrant canes in.

Poor Learner  :( Wouldn't Mrs. L. cook dinner after all your hard work ?

Thanks for the suggestion but Mrs L does cook our dinner later in the evening - I cook my parents dinner and they eat earlier in their own home a quick-belt cycle ride up the road  ::)

Checked the rain guage and max/min, looked for anything to put in the associations newsletter, then went back to the warm! :)

Sounds as though you have a lot going on. Your parents are very lucky  :)

Another 3+ hours, cleared more weeds, cleared another couple of raised beds, put in some onions, started hacking back the brambles behind the polytunnel, carload of bags and rotten wood to the dump. Aggravated my wrist, going to have to take it easier.

Gathered more woody perennial stuff off the new rods for shredding and returning to the compost bins as browns, pulled a nice Savoy cabbage left by the previous holder, more kitchen stuff to my compost bins.

Still waiting for the go ahead to move plot  :( so I am at a standstill and have been for several weeks now.
Meanwhile I watch whilst the manure delivered from nearby stables dwindles and watch the weeds on my (hopefully) new plot run amoc
Rent day this Sunday so hopefully get confirmation that I can move plots.

In case your wondering why the move, my plot floods badly so much so that I considered growing rice  ;) so a third of my plot was not cultivated last season. Also a huge tree that casts a large shadow over most of the plot  :( and the prospect of a different plot has prompted the move......fingers crossed  ::)
I came I saw I grew my own veg

Just did a couple of hours today. Wanted to give my wrist a bit of a rest or it'll still be knackered for work on monday. Cleared some brambles from behind the shed and polytunnel which gave me access to mend some fencing, still need some pallets to finish the job though.
