No Learner - today I have bagged up three bin bags of leaves from the community centre I clear the car park for, planted a fern under the horse Chestnut in the border I cleared for them and picked up some nice windfalls for lunch, drove down to the beach and bagged a couple of bags of drift seaweed, returned home, leaves to my home based leaf bin, seaweed in the garage to go down the lotty later and gone in to make the OH a cup of tea in bed - only just getting up!

I have done a half day's work before most folks get up!

I'd been up a while but I wonder if you'll be sat sitting down when I'm off out again for shift 3 of the day?  ;)

PS: congratulations on the new plot Doooooooooodle!!

Moved a pile of stones ( some I could only just lift) and roof tiles I found while digging out a new part of the veg patch

Our first proper day on our new allotment, weeded around and pruned some of the fruit bushes left by the previous tenant. Our plot is next to the edge of the site, we trimmed some ivy back and discovered 2 wooden compost bins and a very rickety shed (well more of a small cupboard really!) Met some of the other plot holders, all advised using roundup as plot very overgrown, so I will bow to their superior knowledge and will be off to the garden centre tomorrow and hopefully spray on Monday weather permitting!

A good day yesterday on the plot, I put weed control down on two of the beds and planted 30 raspberry plants, made sure the bed was well manured a couple of weeks ago and added some more as I planted them.
This is my first time with enough room to have fruit so heres hoping it goes well.

Can't remember if I wrote last week but I also planted three red and three yellow gooseberry plants last weekend, and as a good deed I donated six plants to the disabled community gardens.

Helped a few folks with storm damage and then dug up a huge bramble that was in the way of the new beds I'm planning.  Watched an amazing sunset.

Inspected and took on another 3.5 rods, covered in annual weeds and some abandoned veg from last holder. I now have 7 rods in total; enough to keep me busy and help to feed us both; my lovely and I.

Planning to keep all my fruit growing on my original plot and grow all veggies on the new piece. Trouble is my autumn onion sets are already in the original piece, so it won't be purely fruit - nothing is ever perfect is it!

Browsing fruit sections of catalogues now for next year.

No, no, no........ I can't be doing with it (What I did on the plot today!! I still have to match a spare time slot with fine weather and no one wanting anything before I can reach my (little slice of heavenly peace and quiet...and weeds!) plot. :(

I'm considering going AWOL and without a MOB too.

Planted a few bulbs in the garden and moved what seems ike the last remainng stones and tiles  (until I start digging!)  Everything is now ready to get out the rotavator ( as I could not use it yesterday, because of the noise on a Sunday)  and it is pouring down with rain again!!  Plan B I think!!

well i had a reasonable day on the new allotment yesterday. i managed to get some Picardy Wight garlic in and planted (cue disapproving looks) my Autumn Bliss raspberry canes. I got 8 planted in a 10ft row. I'm (crossed fingers) hoping they take before the cold really sets in  :(

Sounds good to me... I intend moving my raspberries (whether they like it or not) and today the garlic will go in (to keep the elephant garlic company).   :)
