Spent the day slowly digging over my new half-plot and picking the weed roots out.  Should be done by after Christmas.  The daft thing is that I waited 3 years to get a plot and the one I have taken over has not been used for 4 years according to other plot holders!

Must say the other plot holders I have met have been really friendly and welcoming.  Within 15 minutes of arriving for the first time I had been offered the use of a neighbour's shed and an hour later offered the use of a rotovator.  I thing I will like it there.

Didn't get much dug today as, although sunny, the ground is waterlogged.

Checked round the strawberries to see if all the new babies were happy after being planted out and discovered one of the older plants has started flowering! I think the warmer week after the frosts may have confused it.

Helped myself to my new supply of Horse P** at a local stable all for free. Took it down the plot(s) to spread later!

Despite only 2 hours sleep last night, after a quick nap mid morning, I had a brilliant time lifting wallflowers, taking down the bean-frame, cutting chrysanthemums, broccoli and digging.

Cold...... not in the least - the wonders of "the woolly hat"... kept me toasty even after the sun had gone down and I was cycling home with a trailer load.

Sounds brilliant.... but a shame about the long wait if a plot was sat sitting doing nothing all that time.  :(

I fancy trying kale next year.... have purposely avoided growing it so far but tried some shop bought the other day and I was impressed.

Had a quick browse through the Kings Catalogue which came yesterday.
W've been movng lots of furniture so trying to put everything back into space that no longer seems to exist!!! As it has rained all day, this has not taken me from the plot.

Spread some well rotted farmyard manure all over my fallow bits, and mulched the rhubarb with it, wonderful stuff! 8)

Finally got my greenhouse sorted over the wekend and started preping the onion beds. Dug up the last of my carrots and found a cabbage that wasn't too slug-damaged  :) had them for tea last night  :)
There's more comfrey here than you can shake a stick at!

Took a wonder down to discover that the tops of my Christmas potatoes were dead due to the frost. >:(  will be digging them up tomorrow.  Moved a load of leaves of the lawns ready to use later.  That's it, got to work today at a proper job. ;)
