Didn't garden, the shame of it, but painted three gates whilst OH painted the upstairs windows.  Lovely day to do all these types of jobs and everyone passing by was very pleasant thanks to the run. :D

Drove over to my friend's for some special grass mowings (they have two miniature goats who free range over the grass so the mowings are specially nutrtious!) and hen poo and the bonus of a roll of chicken wire.

The compost bins are full and in the rotting down phase so these mowings will go straight on the beds for worms to drag in over winter.  Just enough hen poo to finish off feeding my raspberry row. Just leave it on top with a mulch of grass so it doesnt sludge or stink so bad.

Her chicken poo rich sawdust and grass mowings are as good as any manure once it has rotted together.

Since fall, I have about twenty cubi feet of autumn leaves collected from the Yoga Centre; in store for a couple of years down the line and a wonderful hibernation quarters for hedgehogs and toads as the wire is deliberatley lifted at the bottom for access.

Seems this time of year is about collecting for next year.

Another organic layer on my no-dig potato bed for next year; a nice layer of grass mowings mixed with miniature goat poo! So that's horse manure, leaf mould, compost and now grass mowings. Its about five inches deep.

On plot6B re-laid the Greenhouse path and dug over the borders. Outside removed the yellow leaves of the sprouts and tidied up the netting.
On plot 20, generally potterd around planning where to put the new fruit trees when they arrive.

Tidied, tidied, tidied. Really beginning to make some progress now. Won’t be long before the area where the fruit cage is going is all clear and ready for digging.

Went down and planted a bag of garlic I had overlooked yesterday when I planted the majority of the cloves!  ::)

In the garden I planted 150 ish red and white onions in toilet roll tubes,  tiny jobs I got via the Daily Mail, the larger will go in the ground down the allotment direct.    :D    Cheers,   Tony.

I managed to get to my plot late this darkening afternoon.... not a single person in site  sight  as it had rained on and off earlier.. Digging was a pleasure. (Great to get a niggly back on the mend too).  ;)

Went down late afternoon (got back from holiday at 2:00 am, which then became 1:00 am of course  )

Did a bit of tidying, although most of this was done before we went away, and then planted out 18 asparagus crowns in their nice new bed  :D :D :D.

The soil has been covered with black plastic for a month and so was beautifully workable, and it was easy to see the last few ( bet it's not  ) perennial weed shoots that had come up in the time.

Took a deep breath -- good to be back  :D
