Had the whole family weeding the veg patch for a couple of hours., still have some clearing of grass to do and some edging, then a good rotivate before the winter.

Im growing exhibition carrots, you fill the raised beds with sand and then bore holes into them and fill with a specialist compost, sow the seeds and you get extra long, extra straight carrots :D :D Well thats the plan anyway

Heres a link to the person im copying off

http://www.allotment-diary.co.uk/exhibition-long-show-carrot-2010.html

Anyway today i managed to get the ton of sand in and it wasnt enough, i am going to have to buy lots of seperate bags ::) But that a nice and easy job and most of the heavy lifting is done now :D :D

what did I do on the lottie today? Went and fetched a pair of secateurs! I had been cutting back the old roses and other wild things in the garden when my home secateurs fell apart!  >:( these were brand new from H*meb*se in the summer!!! Had to fetch me old faithfuls from the lottie shed. Even with gloves, those blinking roses tore me to shreds! Looks much tidier now though - repainted the trellis they had been clothing. Cut the back lawn. Tidied up loads, but not toooo much, as I could see I had loads of ladybirds enjoying the deadwood -  :D jubbly! Very satisfying day all round - not bad for a girl with a broken foot!
small, Welsh and almost certainly bonkers, but can be tamed with Talisker, if required

Ooh that sounds extra delicious Tenhens.  ::)

Have just picked another load of tomatoes from the tunnel. They keep ripening and I finish them off on the kitchen window sill.

Weeding. Lots of weeding.

Plus some harvesting and a little tidying.
