Picked the last big pick of runners to freeze for Christmas.

Still digging up Cara's, harvested some more runners and dismantled the pea netting.   :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2:

That reminds me I've still one short row of spuds to lift.  :)

what I mainly did today was trip over my own feet and fall flat on my face!  :( I now have a bruise the size of a dinner plate on my leg, a grazed arm and a ruffled dignity
There's more comfrey here than you can shake a stick at!

What I did on the allotment 'yesterday' was dig over the spud area to remove all the teeny tiny spuds that sprout ut through the next crop just where you don't need them.

As a type two diabetic, I took a break and went home for a cup of tea and a chokky bikky, my blood sugar level was 3.4.  Felt O.K. Went back and did the rest of the digging.  Went home, gradually felt light headed and woozy .  Got home and tested my blood again.  Found I had a blood sugar level of 1.7 ! ! !  My personal best !  I'll have to lodge a bag of jelly babies in the allotment shed in case this happens again.   Cheers,  Tony.
I may be growing OLD, but I refuse to grow UP !

No problem Jamie,  spent the afternoon with my feet up.  Trouble is a hipo creeps up on you.   Cheers and thanks for your concern,    Tony.

Main question-did anyone see you? :)
I've tripped a few times this year, luckily I'm well away from everybody so wasn't seen and hid the elbows and knees!

Dug half my sweet potatoes, prepared my onion bed, dismantled runner bean frame & picked off last of the beans (which we have since shelled) and picked the last of the chillies and peppers.... and ran out of time!!! (Well ran out of light actually... and then it started to rain.)

Drove to the Yoga Centre to rake up leaves, dropped off a bag of Jerusalem Artichokes to a nice old lady in exchange for her four bin bags of garden weeds, picked up the dog food and had a key cut at the local market, took four heavy bags of leaves home and mowed them to chop them down for the leafmould bin.

Drove the four bags of garden rubbish to the allotment and built a leafmould bin ready for the bags of leaves tomorrow.

Dog didn't get a walk - tomorrow definitely.
I didn't get time to do my yoga - tomorrow definitely.

Today on the allotment, we (my lil bro, his gf,me and my 7yr old son) dug over the ground. It took a good 3 hrs and it's only halfway there. I'm hoping to dig it all by next weekend so I can shovel the manure on and cover it with black plastic over winter.
We are also going to start laying flags at one end for my shed to be built on. We are going to build it from pallets and left over wood- has anyone got any good tips for me?

I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...
