We started to put a fence today and some post's ready for our pig enclosure, though hubby is not looking forward to ramming in another 50 post's  There are still peppers and chilli's in the polytunnel and more just ripening.Cleared two of the veggie beds, there are still tomatoes ripening in the greenhouse though some will only get to chutney:)

Lifted the beetroot for storage/pickling, then had to go to work  :( Shame as it's going to be a lovely day  :(
There's more comfrey here than you can shake a stick at!

Dug out the old strawberries and cleared the beans. Everyone seems to be doing likewise this week  :)

Dug another 6ft of the grass path up..............forked in some BF&B and planted my garlic, and my 'left in the pots too long'  ::) spring cabbage.
At home cleared the tomato plants out of the greenhouse and did a bit of weeding round the minicole cabbages.

Been out all day today, but on Tuesday I was lucky enough to be allocated a full size plot along with my existing half plot  :D
It's been in use this year and just has the usual weeds to be sorted out. I started on the weeds and cut the grass area on tuesday. Hopefully it will be dry tomorrow so I can get stuck in again. I've inherited a shed, a sort of lean-to greenhouse thingy on the side of the shed, a pear tree, some damsons, rhubarb, a few strawberries, a courgette  ::), and some kale and sprouts  :)
Cheers, Comfortably Numb.

I'm just off down the greenhouse. I won't be long ..........................

I do hope the weather is nice in Kent. I will be down this weekend again to see the missus.
Canterbury to be exact. They had a nice local produce festival 2 weeks ago. Was fantastic.

Harvested the beetroots for pickling and roasting; leaves to the compost.

Cleared squashes to the compost and mixed with lawn mowings. Bed nearly ready for heavy manuring and then potatoes next year.

Pickled the last of the courgettes today I reckon. Gonna make a few jars of pickle tomorrow to celebrate a great first year on the plot. Also found a cracking rose hip bush. I'll also make some syrup.  :D
