Got rid of corugette plant, weeded and dead headed all of the roses and gernaiums, shifted a ton of topsoil from one of my raised beds to make room for the new 'carrot bed' im building which will hopefully be for my exhibition carrots, thinking about doing something similiar for my parsnips, started cutting wood for it but run out of wood, will have to go and buy some more ::)

Stripped more leaves of the tomatoes, and harvested some beans, tomatoes, peppers, and rasberries :)

Drove onto the site and straight over a screw, which punctured my tyre, so spent the next hour getting the spare on (with help from a kind fellow allotment holder).  Listened to the details of the latest break-in... so much for the brand new high security fence!  Then finally getting down to some proper allotment work, I lifted the last potatoes, planted some lavendar, cleared out the courgettes, and weeded.

(Yesterday) I:
removed the courgette plants
stripped the last French beans and binned the plants
picked most of the rest of the aubergines chillies & sweet peppers and trimmed down some of the plants for lifting
dug the rest of the spuds as I now need the space for the onions and garlic
did a spot of weeding
turned half a compost bin

Courgettes still gowing so didn't compost them - yet! Harvested peas, swiss chard and a turnip and a swede.  Planted out my autumn (Radar) onions and my Garlic; six inch centres for both.  A bit of weeding and defining of beds ready for next spring. I still have some green manure sowing to do on selected beds.

I planted my garlic, dug over the bean/pea beds, lifted the sunflowers and dug up some carrots for tea  :)

I got soaked digging up two carrots and grabbing a handful of runner beans.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Paddled around happily in my wellies between torrential downpours.  Excavated several paving slabs and bricks and the remains of the spring interior of a mattress from the old muck heap.  I've barely scratched the surface so goodness knows what else is lurking in there.

Dispared at my tomatoes (not ripening) but decided to make chutney/pickle with them instead.  Then went to work. :D

I'm heading out in the rain soon to pick a red cabbage, but think it's too grim and wet to get on with the digging  :(

well at the ripe old age of 46 I planted my first seeds / onions today! I followed the instructions to the letter so only time will tell if I actually grow anything! I planted shallots , onions think they were called ice? tommorrow I am hoping to get in some spinach and some sprouting brocolli :) so now we let nature takes its course and keep fingers crossed.

Take care
