Dug over 1/4 of the plot today, and just got out of a nice warm shower after ! :D
Garlic and onions to go in tomorrow.

Harvested all my spuds and onions, then manoured the raised beds ready for the garlic and onions going in soon. Picked various things for the photograph for the competition. Cut the hedge, topped up the bag of Christmas potatoes with more compost as they have started to show there face. Weeded. Sorted out the sunflowers and saved the seed from them.

Phew, and now for a sit down :D

In the garden - picked over 7lbs of cherry tomatoes.  Making chutney with some, roasted others and eating the rest 'nude'.  Yum, yum ...

Spent two hours in complete isolation..... the rain had just stopped, there were no cars parked at the entrance and not a soul in sight..... just me trimming the path edges, hand-weeding the carrots (right next to the path) and transplanting a row of sweet williams.

Peace quiet then... darkness.

Had two tons of sh..... erm, manure delivered and shovelled it into the manure bin.
Feeling a bit cream crackered now as I settle down to a pint of home brewed yorkshire bitter.  :)

YORKSHIRE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! bitter ??????????????
From a Lancashire Lad !!!!!!!!!!!!

I was going to comment on that, but is Oldham in Greater Manchester and/or still classed as Lancashire? - (I suppose I should have checked the map before this reply) However, good to know 'them there' over the border are still capable of appreciating the Yorkshire taste

Gathered some toms, peppers, lettuce, onions and blackcurrents to take into work and offer round.  Hate to see it wasted if I can't use it all and it's nice to share.

Nothing.  But did go foraging and got 6lb damsons, 4lb sloes, 1lb hawthorns, 1lb (with several bags in the freezer already) blackberries and 1lb apples.  Going to make blackberry and apple crumble for dinner right now. :D

Been busy so haven't been down to the plot for a while. Unfortunately while we've been working our little cottons off, the fox has been helping himself to all the sweetcorn. >:(
I was really looking forward to having some with a meal. :( Still got a few cobs left but most of the nice big fat ones have been chewed

So after that disappointment stripped remaining cobs off sweetcorn, stripped all damsons off tree to make wine with, picked toms, carrots, cucumbers and CF beans. weeded and dug a bit while OH cut the grass and finished new raised bed. Then went home to sulk   :nowink:

Cut down the first wave of runner bean vines to take home for the lawn mower treatment to take back to the allotment compost bin.  Cut the hedge hard back so the new growth will be softer for shearing and better for the compost bin. Cut the Jerusalem Artichokes down to five feet from about ten and composted that. Sheared off the Comfrey and threw that in as well; all layered with a sprinkled bag of starbucks coffee grounds.

Harvested French Beans, Beetroot, Swiss Chard and a couple of Butternut Squashes as the vine had died off - into the compost bin it went!
