Went for a seven mile walk today so after that and a pub lunch there wasn't much time left, but...
Thoroughly hoed two beds, tidied half my strawberry bed, watered & fed various thirsty things and had a good long chat with my lottie neighbour.
Pleasantly tired now in that satisfied rather than exhausted way.

Took five huge bags of grass cuttings down to the plot to mix with all the shredded paper already in the shed: filled one dalek and a half of one --- bet that'll be down to a few inches next week  :D :D

Then scurried off home because the rains came  :tongue2:

Did the usual stuff in the greenhouse, wondered around the raised beds and delighted at the sight of my Christmas spuds that I only put in two weeks ago and then went to the garden centre and got my flower seeds.  Couldn't decide whether or not to buy a snow shovel that was on offer ... ! :nowink:

You're early with those aren't you? Or am I just late as usual?  ???

I have dug up some carrots, picked the last of my kohl rabi, pulled out a chive plant that I don't want any more, harvested some green tomatoes in the hope to ripen them a la gardeners world, planted out some spuds for Christmas (hope not too late), sowed some pak choi in a little spare window box and dug over the bare soil having done all that harvesting!!  Then the rain came :(

This is when i planted them last year, 4 inchs deep and had a really good crop, so this year i'm going to plant another 20 odd in October and the rest in November, i do have quite a few gloves just to see if there is any difference in the final result from the stagered plantings.

Cut the foliage off my potatoes to leaves them to get harder skins under the soil for about a week :)

I cut the grass paths with a push-mower.......cheaper and more rewarding than an hour in the gym  :)

A little weeding between the winter lettuce and kohlrabi and sprinkled a little green manure on the bare patches of earth on the beds
