Hubby went up today for half the day.

I played matron to a six daughter who lay on the sofa giving me bussiness advice  ::) she said I have to look after my companies as they will be hers one day.

Made two batches of chutney this pm with the goodies from the plot. Beetroot chutney followed by a new courgette one which should come with a health notice as its warm and not in temp. maybe as it "manures" as my daughter says it will cool down

weeded, hoed and watered at the plot. Came home and decided it was "time" to take the first earlies out of the bags they had been growing in in the garden. MAJOR disappointment... less than 1kg of spuds from 5 plants! Then worked out what had gone wrong.. due to o/h insisting on putting his car on the drive (how inconsiderate), had to move the spuds from the driveway where they've grown in the last few years to a spot that doesn't get much sun.. which i think? explains why their is so much "top" growth and almost no spuds whatsoever

Spend ytd: £293.44 (setting up plot 29 has been expensive) Harvest ytd: £163.93 (as at 8/8)

Not a bad start at all Kevin  :D Well done, you

Are you going to cover it up 9unless you are going to plant it of course) , to stop those pesky w**ds growing?

Watered the climbing beans as they looked a bit parched.
Picked a few green beans, 6 sweetcorn cobs, a handful purple podded climbing beans, a handful of runners.
I had runner beans sweetcorn and charlotte spuds for tea  :D

Just watering for me tonight, o/h was a good neighbour and helped someone sort their shed as it was looking a bit on the drunk side, and therefore struggling to get the door open & shut

Thought it looked dark, now I know who to blame !  :D
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Yes I have a few things to plant then the rest will be covered with a green manure to hopefully stop the weeds growing too much.

Did some more so not much further to go :)

Just been down to the greenhouse and still don't have a ripened tomato.  Loads of green peppers though.

My cucumbers now seem to be thriving outside.

Don't feel much like weeding and watering today so hoping for rain.

Had a look in the greenhouse this morning - two tomatoes nearly ready for picking  :) :) Was beginning to think that I would never taste a home grown tom. Some chillies turning red at last.
