this is becoming a bit of a regular thing.. weeded, hoed, watered, then decided at the last minute to chance a really late planting of french bean seeds, will wait & see how they do, and if I get much from them.

Good idea - give it a go - you'll never know unless you try!  ;)

Planted some french beans 4 days ago.....there up already!  Watered and mulched as going away on hol.  Very cross to see that someone, kids probably, had yanked off one of my huge ripening corn cobs and left the shredded bits behind along with bits of veg from other plots!      I shall be worried about that all holiday ???

Could I ask why you have cloched red cabbage, Dexyblue?

Planted out peas, runner beans, dwarf beans, mange toute and broad beans; also swiss and rainbow chard and some lettuce - I'm banking on a late summer!

Scraped turf off the paths - I'm going earth paths now and composting any weeds that come up.

Picked raspberries and got wet in the rain, but happy.

A small working party dug up the driveway and a long trench to connect our end of the plots to our river water supply! Hot drinks and burgers and bangers inna bun were provided! A good time was had by all!

They are pretty tough

Careful they don't get too leggy with that extra heat under the cloche   ;)
