Could be old age, as I said, magnesium deficiency or several other things.

Any chance of a photo?
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Ripped it all my old peas and sowed about 30 early peas to try and get a second crop. Potted up strawberrie runners, pulled of a corgette flowere (not sure if i pulled off the right one  )

Why did you pull off a courgette flower in the first place, Jamie?

That's about the 4th post I've seen in the last few days from member being told rubbish by their neighbours.

Unless you have one of the new varieties, that was a male flower that is much needed to pollinate the female.

Spwed some more carrots and potted up some strawberrie runners, did a bit of weeding and watering.

DD - I had a look at my courgette plant today and it has opend up about 5 more flowers, none with a courgette behind them. is this still ok?

I've got a green courgette plant that only seems to swing one way too ....  I hope that when it gets some water - oh lovely rain -  it will feel it has the resources to grow some courgettes.  (Us females are very hi maintenance you know!   :D :D)
