Cut firewood for the woodstove in the rain!
Rounded up 2 escapee calves again out on the road.  Solar fence problem - no sun.
I'm getting too old for this malarkey. All I ever wanted to do is grow vegs and plant trees. Still, This is the life!

Watered, fed the birdies.

Harvested my tiny blackcurrant bush before the birdies got to it and ended up with about half a kilo of fruit, so I probably won't get more than a pot of jelly out of it.  Redcurrants are a complete disaster this year, masses of leaves and not even a handful of fruit.  Did some weeding at the flower end, but was stopped by a three-way bee fight.  I think one of them had a tiny broken bottle, so I backed off and let them get on with it.

Also picked a nice bunch of flowers.  I bought loads of cheap plants and bulbs from Wilkinsons and the 99p shop and have loads of freesias and sweet peas coming up.

One of these fine days I want to go to the plot and do absolutely nothing - nor be tempted to - just sit and stare and breathe gently  ;)

I did some weeding today and checked my peas and broad beans and noticed that I have black fly on them, also had a chat with my plot neighbor who only just started putting a raised bed in. I am still trying to get rid off my mole which keeps moving from one end of my plot to the other I am not very pleased !
Strained my nettle brew which has been brewing for 4 weeks and the smell coming off it was HORRENDOUS  :tongue2:  I hope its worth it.

I did exactly that today after a trip to the hospital. I sat on my ex park bench and looked at as much of my fruit and veg and the flowers as i could see without moving. Its one of the most difficult things to do, sit in the plot and do nothing. First time for everything tho!

Too wet and windy to do anything outside so just looked at what was doing well and what could be better. Chillies, tomatoes, peppers, carrots in pot and scallions (spring onions) doing well, courgettes doing not too bad, cucumber not so good.  Will maybe try some work tomorrow!!
