That link is facinating!  I think you are extremely lucky being able to source it all so locally.
There are ingredients there that I've never heard of - like Kamut, and would wonder where on earth I could source hard red winter wheat... I shall have a snoop round the net tonight.

I am very glad to hear your girls are thriving on the mix, and hope your babies all hatch healthily this year

 I don't stick religiously to the recipe although Ronda's recipe is what I base on. I'm not altogether sure what kamut is either  Some of the stuff the chooks just wouldn't eat, like the split peas. They seemed too hard, tried cooking them but they still weren't interested. When I go to the feed store I always buy the mixed corn. I buy sunflower seeds, in and out of the shell; safflower seeds, hemp, sometimes millet  but often I buy a kilo of parakeet mix or budgie mix or canary mix or whatever as these have different seed mixes, so they get a variety. Over the winter I found the chooks took more of the seed from the mix, they obviously know what they need. I think it's probably the protein ratio that is important.
