Nina's sister is looking a tad lost now and still isnt laying inside the coup do u think she will evenually learn or should i leave an egg in there so she gets the a clue?

can you get a plastic or pot egg to put in there? If not a golf ball would work, perhaps they do need to be taught the correct place for laying (having said that one of mine decided to lay in all sorts of places and it's murder trying to track them down  :lol:).

Do they have a nest box to go in? Mine Que up to go in, sometimes 3-4 waiting like old women at a bus stop :lol:

and don't they moan when they are queuing - mine have 16 nest boxes to choose from but only use 3, and if they are in use they stand just outside rosey and moaning, jigging around like they are just so desperate to go  :lol: :lol:

re nest boxes  -yea they have 3 nest boxes and use 2 lol  most times one! i might go and get a golf ball and leave it in there.

My little scots dumpy has just had exactly the same problem, I'm following the advice given and hoping for a better outcome.
I suppose that first eggs can be a scary time for little hens and their owners.
