Do you mean something like these options?

we use the kind of 6 foot high panels you find around construction sites (called HERAS fencing) easy to fix but best if put up in a zig zag. Not all that elegant but cheaper especially if you need good height. Try scaffold suppliers or builders merchants - sometime second hand ones available and try building sites as panels often dumped if damaged. Bases are expensive but not needed - just push into ground.

Yes - that type of thing ..want something attractive to look at although have had a rethink since posting prhaps just using fencing posts and wire ...that way we would still be able to see the chickems and not block our view over fields ..    do you know if those woven fences just need knocking into ground without posts ...sorry to seem a bit ignorant  !

Hi Ali,

As far as I know the natural hurdles will often have posts built into the sections - there are some quite good pics on that website I posted. If you are thinking of going for stobs and stock fencing instead, so that you can see through it, you should be able to get that at builders or agricultural merchants. You don't say in your profile whereabouts you are, as I'm not sure if recommending you internet based services is any use, or if you would rather hear from someone more local to you. :)

Many thanks for your help Argylie we have decided on the open fencing after all that as although we like the woven hurdles we wouldn't be able to see through them..there is an agricultural merchants just down the road from us that we shold be able to get it all  from.

Many thanks again , Ali :D
