I suggest you have a read of this.

You'd be way too early with beetroot - where are you going to put them when you've raised them?  Did it say to start them now on the packet?

I wouldn't get too keen with that propagator, beetroot certainly don't need one and you'd be raising weak seedlings.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

beetroot should be planted direct into the soil where they are to grow in second half of march its far to early and they are more likely to bolt go to seed.

All I've started are my onions and leeks. :D  They are in the conservatory and are now popping their little heads up. ;)

When I see this, I think of Spring of just being around the corner. :)

March is plenty early enough for my leeks. The ones I tried early last year bolted.

You can start chillis indoors now. And leeks, and maybe tomatoes, although I haven't tried this early.

To some extent depends where you live and what varieties you are growing.

I've sown cauliflower and purple sprouting broccoli, but only the very early summer varieties which according to the seed packets can be sown Jan-March, and I should be harvesting June onwards.

But only sowing small amounts -  I will be sowing further batches of the same seeds in Feb & March.

But I live on the south coast so can sow at the earliest recommended sowing times on the seed packets.
