I have been given a load of seed trays that haven't been used for some time, to be on the safe side I thought I would soak them inside a plastic dustbin filled with a solution of jeyes fluid and water. Does this sound like a good idea to you all?

sounds good to me , leave to soak over night, leave to dry naturally if possible, inside greenhouse / shed

Ive been using Jeys Fluid every year doing exactly the same. Never had any problems or disease that I know of. Make sure you wear gloves not only because it says you should on the tin but to stop your hands smelling for yonks.

Hi all sorry for the newbie question but what does jeyes fluid do that just washing in water (or with washing liquid) does not ?

It's a very strong disinfectant, not a detergent.

It's like adding bleach in the bathroom...'kills 99% of all know germs' if you know what I mean
and that's what I add to soapy water to wash my pots and seed trays out with

Do't have it too strong or leave them in too long. I did a few years ago and the plastic distorted.

Is jeyes fluid ok for organic growing?

The old guys on my site pour it on the soil in their greenhouses to disinfect it
