Mum!  Honestly, you can't get the parents these days ....   :nowink:

Mine will go on the window shelf in the shed as soon as it gets above freezing - not ideal as it really isn't light enough, but the best I can do.

Isn't that a bit harsh?  I hope you let her come in at night :)

I'm not sure where to chit mine i used to use the kitchen windowsill but now i've got my allotment theres to many, would they be alright in the garage or is it too cold :blush: :wacko:

Needs to be above freezing  -  and light.  If a garage has windows, it might struggle to stay above freezing.

Might be okay if your garage is integral, or at least attached to the house.  We store our spuds in our attached garage and they have been okay.

i chit because they chit anyway!if i chit them they grow firm green/purple sprouts.if i dont chit they grow long white sprouts which saps the energy of the spud or so im told.

My garage is joined to the house but doesn't have a window and it does get quite cold but the water pipes never freeze.  :wub: :(

Sorry harry, but you need light for the spuds to chit properly. In the dark they grow long thin white sprouts, which is just what you don't want :(

If you don't want them to chit yet, keep them in a dark,  cold, but frostfree place.
It's the light plus a little warmth that starts them sprouting .... 
It'll only be for a few weeks now anyway, won't it ?  :)
