hello and welcome tez!!  i really like the sussex hens, they seem to be good all rounders and come in a variety of colours too, buff, light (white with black laced necks) speckled etc and they come in either large fowl or bantam size depending on what you are after.  But that is just my own opinion and im baised as ive got some of them, really i suppose it depends on what you mainly want them for, i keep mine as pets and foe eggs. i'm sure others will give you info too! good luck, lucylou

It totally depends on what you are looking for. Eggs? friendly? pretty/cute?lazy/docile? good for children, eg like a cuddle?  or even just hardy, friendly, bog standard egg a day girls?

My advice would be to look around t a few, and like me, you might end up saying " I just HAVE to have that one, she is perfect"
