bit late for Christmas I know...

but I found this recipe tucked inside a late Christmas card today. It made I larf  :wacko:
Ingredients
1 gallon of whisky, 1 cup of water, 1 cup of sugar, 4 large eggs, 2 cups of dried fruit etc etc..you know the rest :)
Instructions
Sample the whisky to check for quality.
Take a large bowl. Add the butter and beat. Pour 1 level cup of whisky and drink to ensure it is the highest quality.
Add one spoon of sugar to the bowl and beat again.
Taste the whisky to make sure it is still ok.
Add some more sugar and beat. Turn off the mixer. Check the whisky.
Break too leggs add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of dried fruit.
Check the whisky, then mix on the turner.
If the fruiet gets struck in the beaterers, pry it loose with a drewscriver.
Sample the whisky to check for tonsisticity.
Next sift 2 cups of salt. Or something. Check the whisky again.
Sift the lemon juice and strain your nuts.
Add one table.Add a spoon. Of sugar or something....who cares!
Grease the oven. Turn the cake tin round 360 degrees.
Beat of the turner. Check the whisky again.
Go to bed. Who likes a fruitcake anyway?   :lol:

Typical.  A decent recipe arrives and..... can't get to the shop for the ingredients because of the ice and snow.  :tongue2:  Bu**er  :)

If you replace the whisky for bucks fizz and change the ingredients to turkey, potatoes and veg, that is almost the same recipe I used for my Christmas dinner  :D
