Dust bath material

:)  Just thought I'd post that I remembered I had half a dozen compressed coir bricks from the spring planting last year .. so crumbled them up fine.  It makes lovely dust bath material .. very fine and soft and as it's under the henhouse, will stay nice and dry.

I thought every one did it. You don't want em getting cut while bathing, I mean that is why its called sharp sand, isn't it?

I use the grandkids sand pit sand but one of the little blighters left the lid off (probably the same one who keeps checking for eggs and leaving the nest box open (I know who you are...) and when I went to get a change of dust bath there was a 6"deep block of ice covering the whole pit. Floods then freezing, what do you expect?
Wonder if you can teach chickens to skate......mmmmm
