There's a few different things about, doff woodlice killer, nipon do one as well and I think Derris will kill them to, you can trap them under pots and then stamp on them.
He who asks is a fool for five minutes, but he who does not ask remains a fool forever.

Chickens love them Richy   :D

I thought woodlice only ate decaying matter so are not a problem to growing plants, but actually helpful to the gardener  :!:

I was about to agree with you Aunty but just checked Doc Hessayon's book.  He says seedlings and young plants are eaten.  I'm off to check google now 'cos I'm not convinced.

Hmmm! maybe a case of what came first the dead plants or the woodlice then.

There was loads inside the pot though, but it is possible they arrived after death.

Oh well Thnk I will grow one indoors a cucumber that is not a woodlice and see if that fairs better, think I can just squeeze one in before its too late to plant.
Thanks anyways

We are plagued by them and I know that it supposed to be just decaying stuff but they appeared en mass under trays of newly planted seed in the cold frame, collonised newly planted pansies which didn`t thrive but have improved since last week when I resorted to nippon.I also tend to get a lot in the greenhouse where they head for the small bush toms unless I get to them first.

I think I get overly cross when we find them in the house, including the bath .But hundreds in newly planted out flower pots, and no I am not exaggerating ,is behond a joke, this has been an ongoing prob for 3 years only.Maybe because of the mild winters.
