Seeds from banana shalot bulbs (eventually)?

Just been down to Ladles and bought half a dozen banana shallots.  Will plant them shortly in pots in the greenhouse and hopefully get lots of seeds in time.  Anyone going to make a book and see if I'm succesfull?      why doesn't these Santas not have beards? ? ? ???Cheers,   Tony.
