Made some mini polytunnel raised beds last year which were great. Used plastic on most and enviromesh on a few to keep the root fly out. Enviromesh worked well  but a few of the b*****s got in, not sure how. Makes you wonder how brassiacs and carrots can be grown in the open plot without infestation. Post a note if I can help anyone out.

18mm plastic pipe,
I made a wooden frame out of 50mm x 40mm timber. Bored 18mm holes at about 2 foot spacings and inserted the plastic pipe from one side to the other. Covered it with polythene and stapled it to the wood. The frames sit on top of the raised bed. They have been there 10 months and are still in good condition.

The reason they grow blemish free in open fields is the same reason we grow our own!
