hello, i am new to growing veg, this might sound stupid, but some body told me that you can take the beans out of runner beans and plant them!! is that true?

grow your beans as normal

leave few on the plant until late august / sept ,

pick the pods and allow to dry naturally , black and wrinkly keep dried ,

either at home or in cold greenhouse

in the new year remove beans from the pods and place in paper bags .

plant the beans out when all fear of frost has past ,

its works that way for us in darkest east yorkshire lol
