Fleece will keep the warmth in, which our garlic do not need and could in fact encourage them to rot.

You may have to look at a different barrier.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

I like "Bridal path", in fact I'm becoming quite wedded to the idea!  :D
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

One of the best things about being an orang-utan is the fact that you don't lose your good looks as you get older

Just as long as it's divorced from the plot next door, it shouldn't be a problem  :D
Cheers, Comfortably Numb.

A couple of mine have just come through but most are still - I hope- down there. This happened last year and in the end nearly all showed up - some in late January and all cropped very well. I think they do it to shred your nerves and show you that you're not as clever as you think you are.

Bonfire - I planted some through weed control fabric with holes in it to cut down on the weeding. Some are 6 inches but some have yet to pop up throught the hole yet - all planted together. I have stopped worrying since every time I check a few more are appearing but it has taken over a month.

Mine only went in 2 weeks ago, just before the heavy rain, high winds and frosts! Made it!  :)
