Just take care with what they're treated with - are all decking treatments plant friendly?  You don't want nasty stuff leaking into your beds and then being taken up by the veg  :blink:

This has been discussed before and the general consensus is that products sold these days are considered safe for veggie growing.  It's the old railway sleepers with tar treatments in/on them which are the difficulty.

I think it is each to their own really.  Some advantages and some disadvantages.  Personally I love them and wouldn't be without them, but my neighbour wouldn't dream of using them.

I lik their neatness and the way that they mean I have clearly defined walking/growing areas.  Someone else would look at all the paths and see them as wasted growing space!

I have used decking board in the past. I always buy it in the Spring to keep the price down as B&Q or Wickes normally do a special at around £3.99

I also have raised bed's made from decking, what a fun weekend that was constructing he he 

I love them, they make the garden (I don't have a lottie) neat, and means I can easily reach without getting back ache

They might do, but they have paths - otherwise they can't get to their crops - they just have more of them inbetween each row; and weed and dig them every year. Having beds means that we can plant closer together and have better access [esp in the winter] whilst other people's lotties have to lie dormat as they can't even walk on theirs with all the mud.

What size are the beds in the photo, my allotment is about 15 x 10 mtrs

I think that they are 8ft (2400 sq) I have not cut them and they are probably as big as they can  so that I can reach into the middle without stepping inside.
