That's a mixed bag!

My girls tend to lay throughout the morning, and will have ususally finished by lunchtime.  Rarely I will get an egg in the afternoon, but this is definitely the exception.

However as the days get shorter, they are laying later and later.

my hens are getting on a bit and lay erratically, sometimes in the morning sometimes in the afternoon, sometimes not at all, sometimes in the hen house, sometimes underneath the hen house, or anywhere they think i won't find them

My chickens are all over the place. Sometimes mid morning and sometimes in the afternoon. Hardly ever first thing, they have food on their minds then. It depends entirely what time they layed the previous day.

So far only Lola has laid - on alternate days since friday. She lays late morning. This morning, I actually saw her lay (sorry Lola)

3of my 4 all lay in the morning usually by 9-but I think the clocks going back has thrown them a bit-the 4th is yet to lay-not sure why she's so far behind the others who have been laying now for at least 5 weeks and they were supposed to be the same age.

I think you missed out a randomly tick box.  I read somewhere that chx ovulate every 25hrs so if so they will slowly cycle the time they lay each day however as others have said there are other factors which infuence them.  Younger hens tend to lay earlier I'd say though.
