Well Little Red is still with me but when let out this morning he fell over and couldn't get up again. Put him upright and off he slowly walked. His smelly pooh problem seems to have gone so that's one good point. I wonder if the cold and damp affects him as this morning it was very misty and cold like the day the symptoms first appeared - if this is the case I don't hold out much hope for him surviving the winter  :(
Staffies are softer than you think.

Joyfull sorry he sounds poorly again :( Reading HF's post i thought it sounded like your boy. Really hope he pulls through-are all his new feathers through yet?
We have 17 chickens, 3 quail, 2 dogs, 3 cats and that's enough (for this week)

Hi Kitkat, most are through, I just think he is generally a sickly bird and will suffer everytime there is a stressfull time for him. As the weather is now getting cold overnight I will make sure if he stays in his coop) that he has enough straw etc in his coop to keep him warm and just see how he goes. Whatever he has wrong with him isn't infectious as the girl he was living with is fighting fit but when he came inside last week she moved into another house to be with some of the others, leaving him all alone with nobody to cuddle upto  :(.
At the moment he is standing in the sunshine so perhaps the heat from the sun will make him feel better  :).
Tonight I may move him into the big shed with the older girls so he has company and just see how he goes, failing that he will have to have a teddy bear or something to cuddle up to (unfortunately he has never perched prefering to just stay on the floor).

Joy, I'm so sorry to read about what's happened to Little Red. :( You did everything you could to make him comfy and he would have known how much he was loved. There are times when however hard we try things just aren't meant to be. Goodnight, God bless, Little Red. :(

Sending a BIG hug, Jan.x
