Digging up spuds for supper new

They are growing Nadine, Rocket and Pink Fir Apple potatoes.
The Nadine have flowered and their leaves have flopped and turned yellow so they reckon they are ready to dig up!
Fred (our neighbour on the otherside - he's 93 you know) says cut the tops off the spuds, leaving a little tuft of stalks to tidy the place up, and dig up spuds as you need them.

He had a peek at the Pink Fir but they still have a way to go. They are just starting to flower.
