George said to me, "If I get the apples and make a press, will you do the bits that need hygene and make some scrumpy!"
I've agreed, the press is to be a substantial piece of George's joinery and a car jack, and I've quite a bit of wine making tackle, so we could all end up like the proverbial newt! 8)

Come autumn he'll get back to the shed!

George will be at Heckington show with some very creative floral exhibits, he's unmistakable and I expect the 'tash will be preened for the weekend!
I'm going with him on Friday to help set up, but don't think I'll be at the show.
He's very approachable and loves to explain things (in detail, so make sure you have the time!).
The committee has requested that he tidy his plot, he's not sure where to start as he thought it was tidy!

Getting away from the topic a bit but Friday evening I accompanied George to the Heckington show ground to assist with carrying bits into the marquee!
The van is up to George’s tidiness standard: ::)

He introduced me to the 57 varieties man, who this year is showing 57 different pelargoniums.  Last year it was 57 different weeds; he was recently interviewed on local radio!

I did quite a bit to this one myself….

These are two of his exhibits:

This last one must win or the judges are blind philistines! ???

We spotted this, and a lottie construction project sprang to George’s mind!

So there you are, a taster of the weekend’s show!

The flower arrangements are beautiful. I love the 'still lifes' in frames. George has an eye for tidiness and order when it suits him!

Disaster has struck! George's usual plot lunch is noodles and whatever veg he can find with the bread buns salvaged just as they turn mouldy! He's very frugal!
Seems with a new crop of tomatoes along with noodles has sent his sugar count a bit high, so the plots are very weird without him!
