In which case wait a few more weeks (I have a holiday between the 11th and 18th) so after that the other apples should be spot on as well plus there seems to be some coming along on the A52 not far from me (and some wild plums although these may be too far gome in a few weeks).
Staffies are softer than you think.

I was thinking along the same lines but wondered if George had used a few dog tooth washers to spread out the stresses and strains.

Not sure about the wood, but George is a very able retired joiner, so I wouldn't presume to question his judgement on that score! But yes, he did use dog tooth washers.
We're carrying out a test tomorrow morning to try for a demijohn full; my trusty shopping trolley is loaded with chopped apples ready. Air lock and champagne yeast at the ready!

Good shed!  ' Beauty's in the eye'......etc etc   Regimented lines of brown shiplap boxes from B&Q offend me.(no offence, just a thought).

Thought you all might like to share in Georges limelight! :)

Two shows and a few wins, including best in show for a flower arrangement!

Congratulations to George, however when taking the photo couldn't you at least have told him that his flies were undone?

George was busy in the shed next door today (its tidy with more room, 'cos its not full of "stuff"! :)) Being creative again for his last show of the season!

I scrumped him some apples, some of the damsons I'd scrounged for damson gin, and raided my herb bed. He reckoned my astors were past it!

George had to take his cups back to the show this Friday, so after rooting in his shed, he brushed off the cobwebs and found someone on the plots daft enough to admit they had silver polish!
After all the trouble he went to, he came home again with the said cups plus another one! So it’s back to the cobwebs for another year! :D
