Evie's a lovely little cat but at this time she doesn't want any males nearby..

ha ha I said that after the stressful birth of my first one
Ha ha Joy, did you give birth to cats? I might have a go myself if you did
We have 17 chickens, 3 quail, 2 dogs, 3 cats and that's enough (for this week)

When Cara was brought home, our Kali cat adopted her and immediately drove poor Shiva cat out of the house in case he harmed the new kitten. Kali actually started to lactate and offered to feed whenever Cara cried (which was most of the time as I recall)

She (Kali) also took a dim view of the doctor visiting - fluffed up and stalked at him sideways on, which makes them look bigger, yowling threats.

After 6 weeks though Kali felt it was time for Cara to make her own way in the world. I tend to agree

 :tongue2: To Dad  :tongue2:

Okay, the kittens are still moving in her and she is not distressed. The vet has just said to give her another 4-6 hours or so to see what happens as this can be very stop start in young cats and because of the fireworks she can hold on for a while until she feels safe again. I had lovely cuddles in the night from her, then she accidentally lactated over me while we snuggled in the sleeping bag  and now she has a lovely cosy sleeping bag to give birth in as she seems to be most comfortable there now

A little bit of food has been eaten in the night as well as some kitten formula milk so her energy is up, just a case that we all must wait even longer I'm afraid  ::)

Dont worry Snip, I think we'll still be waiting then  ::) I'm trying to get some breakfast, but she doesnt like me leaving the room and is crying in there. Its a heartbreaking sound  :( She obviously does not want to do this alone.

Tode - there better be kittens in there, if not she's in big trouble keeping us all on tenterhooks like this

On no males, she let Phil stroke her head last night - once! She then flattened her ears at him and he backed off quickly. But, she likes the sound of his voice as purred away when he talked to her through the door  She's a mental little one!

I'm setting up photobucket with an Evie Gives Birth section so that everyone can see them fully. I have taken some pictures of her now, waiting for them to come. I think she may try to give birth on me she is being that clingy!

I'll be adding more to it as it goes along  :D

A bit rounded to say the least  :) She's now rearranging the bedding to her liking and getting a bit grumpy with mummy - it's all my fault they havent come yet, or so she thinks

I had a young cat like that once and she had two ginger toms - very sweet.
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

Proper contraction and in her box moving her bedding around. She is guiding me to the box with her. Looks as though it may be paw holding time  :D YAY YAY YAY !
