I assume you mean Japanese over-wintering? i dont grow them myself,though a fellow plotholder only put hers in this morning.

The onion sets I sell say to plant Sept/Oct so your not too late.   You could probably get away with early Nov as well as onion sets can't read or tell the seasons apart.  (Or so I believe).

Miine are not going in for another week.... too busy at the moment.

I'm pretty sure they will be ok (if I can stop the foxes digging them up or partying on top of them!!]

i put mine in the other week.they have just shot through, lots of people on my site were planting today or next week

Don't rush winter onions Livvy.

If they put on too much growth now - they're prime for bolting come spring.

Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?
