What have you still got growing
« on: October 18, 2009, 15:29 »
Although nearly everything has now died off that I started back in Spring, my tomatoes are still ripening - I got a few pound off today.  What others of you have still got things coming up? 8)

Not including what you've planted for next year, ie, spring cabbage, caulis, etc.

Toms, chili's, peppers, leeks, celery, parsnips, carrots, raspberries, cape gooseberries :) Although I guess the leeks might be for next year as they are taking ages to get fatter.

Few tomatoes, few peppers, rocket, winter lettuce growing in g/h with endive, corn salad, leaf celery and some spinach.
Outside: leeks, winter cabbage and swede, welsh onions, few winter raspberries still coming.
The herbs are still growing quite strongly as well.

Swedes, Christmas spuds, overwintering onions and garlic, one teeny pumpkin, Jerusalem artichoke, couple of late caulis and PSB that refuses to sprout.

I'm still picking runner beans!  I was very late getting them in though as it took me three goes.  In the greenhouse are peppers and chillis other than that I think everything else has finished.  Got two freezers full so should be alright for the winter.

I've been picking a good sized container of strawberries roughly twice a week for the last four weeks!  :) Picked a few more today but they must be nearly over by now...

A few beetroot still in, red cabbage, parsnips, carrots, leeks
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Few leeks, some tomaotes, celeraic that seems too small.
Planted a few late seded and turnip but doubt they will come to anything.
Pot of Christmas potatoes that seem to be going OK.

Few leeks (must plant more next year), swedes, purple sprouting broccoli, swedes, last of the strawberries and a few marrows in store. Most of crops are eaten or in the freezer.  Spring cabbage and cauli for next year of course.

This is our first attempt at growing stuff over the winter. We have leeks, celery, celeriac, swiss chard, redbor kale, PSB, savoys,  sprouts, winter lettuce. Spring onions, spinach, turnips, winter lettuces. Still picking green and runner beans and raspberries. Scorzenera, salsify and parsnip. Christmas pots in greenhouse. Chillies in shed. Lots of stuff squirrelled away for the winter too. We might just be selfsufficient this year. It's been hard work but well worth the effort.  :tongue2: :tongue2:
I'm not really looking forward to the drawer full of frozen runner beans though!
The less time you have, the more becomes available.
