We have rats in the compost heap, last time I tried baiting them it cost me £120 at the vets to get the dog sorted as no one told me they would eat blue wax cones as well.  Hoever, the dog got his own back and got one of the rats, but I know there is at least one other judging by the size of the hole in the compost bin material.  Will be getting a trap I think and try that, eradibait hasn't worked either I might add.

get a .22 riffle, much more fun and easier, plus your dogs will retrive the dead, well my Labrador does.

Well since eating the entire 1kg of non fail poison we got from the horticulture place, the only dead bodies we've found are the 2 that were in the traps we got!

I tell penny to keep away from it and she does!

Yay - update on the useless terriers..................
Bruce, the Pointer, brought us a freshly dead rat today
Don't know where he got it or who caught it  :nowink:
Maybe the terriers got it, maybe the cats did  :D
Maybe next door had poisoned it  but I don't think so it looked healthy, albeit dead. Didn't have the courage to take off my gloves to check if it was warm, just chucked it on the brazier and cremated it tonight - yuk  ;)

.22 BSA Ultra PCP for night time with a Weihrauch silencer, Better than the BSA standard one. Tasco Scope 50mm zoom. Weihrauch HW 77 in  .177 for daytime use when the noise dont matter and I want to use a real gun.

Having said that I do love the pointability of the Ultra, its almost like a big pistol and is very popular to use in a small area. Bit short in the resevoir though only 35  to 40 shots before a recharge..
