Application of Diatom

No red mite but on inspection found some lice a couple of days ago. 
Thought I'd make it easy for myself so although I dusted the girl that had the lice immediately, I decided to do the others at bedtime. Saves all that chasing around.  12 girls to do.
I put my Diatom in a flexi-tub, stand chook in tub and dust back and neck with an old soft paintbrush, then under their wings and their knickers by grabbing handfuls and rubbing it in. Then lift girl into nest box where she shakes off residue , dusting nestbox in the process. Works for me, haven't tried the pillow case method.
Anyway, all was going very well, as per usual I was covered in the stuff, then I realised that I seemed to have dusted an awful lot of girls and in the dim solar light I couldn't tell who was who or who I'd done 
Next time I'll do it in the daylight
