Fencing
« on: October 14, 2009, 19:05 »
Hi All,

I want to put up a low level fence to restrict my hens to a certain section of the garden and I am not sure what sort of fencing to use?

I was thinking about using wire mesh/fence panels but I thought the sturdier the fence the more likely they will be able to jump over it.

So has anyone got any experience of using nylon fencing? Also what sort of height should it be so that they can't get over?

Any help is much appreciated

Andy

HI andy.

We have ours enclosed by nylon/string poultry netting. it is useless for pretty much anything else but keeps them in place. We have it supported using Wilko 1.8m plastic garden stakes which were for sale in summer but probably no now.
It's about 5ft high because we haven't clipped their wings.
