Ground Available -Swindon in Wiltshire
« on: October 04, 2009, 17:10 »
Hi
I live in Gorse Hill, Swindon, Wiltshire,England.
I post to ask if anyone might be looking for a patch of ground on which to keep hens.
At the bottom of my garden is 13½sq metres of ground which is covered in deep rooted couch grass, other grass and old plants and some brambles. The only way to clear it is by two or three years of hens scratching and pecking at the weeds, roots and seeds.
My bones are becoming somewhat too stiff to do the work of shoo-ing them into a henhouse every evening, letting them out every morning, feeding, watering, care & maintainance.
So if anyone wanted to keep hens but did not have ground then they are welcome to have a look at our piece of ground. I do not want any rent, my purpose is for the ground to be eventually cleared by the hens over two or three years. There is free access along the side of the house and food and healthcare items could be kept in the old conservatory which has a locked door to it.
If your goodselves or anyone you know might be interested then please do not hesitate to contact. Thank you.

It is lovely to see that there are such generous people still around.
If I lived near you I would definately be taking this offer up. A tad too far to travel every morning to let them out and evening to put them to bed me thinks

Good luck to the lucky person who takes this offer up :)
