Val - I'll be honest, I didn't test for pectin.  :blush:

If you'd done that, you could have adjusted if it was short. I suspect that the burnt taste is from it sticking as you boiled for a lot longer than normal after the sugar was added. You live and learn :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2:.
