Blimey, my heads spinning.  Shall we just call it a Cuckcou Maran and be done with it?

In the UK the "cuckoo" feathered maran is just that, in addition they have designed a marans based hybrid which is called a cou cou maran. :) Somewhat confusing! :D

I might have guessed that you'd have pure thoroughbreds Ruff.  No mongrels for you  ;)

I cant quite see from your pictures ginger! but what type of comb have they got? if they have a normal one (1 row of spikes running down the middle) i would agree a cuckoo maran but if they have a rose comb (wider with no defined spikes just sort of lumpy) then they are wyandottes here is a pic of my silver laced wyandotte with her rose comb

Thanks Debbie
I tried to get a clear pic of her comb but the only way I can get her to stay vaguely in one place is with food  and of course she's then bobbing her head around like mad  ::)
The comb is definitely not flat.
Final verdict.... cuckoo maran

ps lovely wyandotte debbie  :)
pps lovely mongrels, very cute  :D, and the faverolles too....

Thanks everyone!
Next decision, do I tell the breeder or just put it down to experience and move on?!

Okay, now I'm not sure which Maran I have.  Mine has feathered legs.  I didn't know there two different kinds.
When I die I will slide in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand and chocolate in the other, screaming, "Whooo hooo!  What a ride!" as life is to be enjoyed to the fullest!
