Must apply to other species. My wife's farming uncle used to say a fart from a bullock was more use than the sh*t from a cow.

Think we might be back on the sexist theme again here!

I have certainly been known to creep furtively up the garden to annoint my compost bins with diluted wee; do sometimes wonder how I will explain the contents of the bucket to my neighbours if they accost me half-way!
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

One of the best things about being an orang-utan is the fact that you don't lose your good looks as you get older

I read that urine not used within 24 hours is no use as it starts to produce ammonia and will burn your precious plants:

'Don’t use urine older than 24hours on your plants as the urea turns into ammonia and will burn your plants. If it’s not fresh, add it to your compost heap.'

Here's a thing. In the 18th and 19th centuries the coal boats from Newcastle and Yorkshire sailed down the East Coast to the Thames and London to deliver their coal. To make the return trip profitable they used to take barrels of human urine back up to the north east, which was used in the alum industry, which was big in that neck of the woods at that time. The urine was collected from the population of London. I think they were even paid for it; they certainly were here in Lancashire where it was also used in the cotton industry.
It's where the phrase 'taking the p*ss' comes from, although quite why it is now used to signify teasing or ribbing someone, I don't know.
I'm sorry, that had nothing to do with tomatoes  :(

Another litle "did you know":  urine used to be used for bleaching the washing, in the days before chlorine-based bleaches.  Very versatile stuff.
