its full shade for about 3/4 of the day at the moment

As well as the usual mint and Sage, try Sweet Woodruff, the flowers should bring light to any dark area, just depends what you want the herbs for?? Cooking or medicinal??
Obvioisly watch the mint as it can take over, best to plant it in a pot then bury the pot.
I may take my time.....but i'll get there in the end.
