I did think that as we only feed pellets as mash makes too much mess and we dont want to attract any rats or mice from old food laying around.
So i dont even have any i could try him on 

And without knowing the previous owner to ask i really dont know!
is their anything treat wise that is irrrisistable to chickens?
and he has eaten some chick crumbs - mayeb they taste better than pellets?

he has been eating alot today mainly wild bird seed and mealworms and he now has a wife =]
