hi need bit of help. is it too late to plant cabbage plants?,  and where can i buy them from? apart from that allotment doing well for first timer.  apart from thieves doing my shed three times.  grrr

No it's not to late you could start from seed if you really want, most garden centres should have them or try your local market, even freecycle loads of plants on ours at the mo.
Bad luck with your shed, have they taken much or is it just damage which is bad enough.  :evil:

Don't fret. I had a bit of emergency a few weeks ago and had to move all my seedlings out of the conservatory to outside. Result? - a dozen dead cabbage plants. I have re-seeded but am not panicking as in this weather I'm sure it won't take them long to catch up?

I never plant my cabbages and Kale until the second week in May and I always grow from seed.  I have only just planted my purple sprouting, Cauliflower and Brussels so just buy seed.  I rake a small area outside and mix in some potting compost then sow and cover with a clouch or just chicken wire (Pigeons are a problem where we live).  Once they have four leaves I prepare the area they will finally grow in and transplant them directly.
