Painting the veggies
« on: May 02, 2007, 16:01 »
We have been given some wood by a neigbour who appears to be gutting his house, and last week we put up a small fence and gate across the garden to section it off for the chickens. I asked my OH to get some brownish paint while he was out and he came back with B & Q Hedgerow, which looked brownish on the label but is actually a claret colour, which we used all up.

I've just been fixing and painting some more lengths of wood around the veggie patch to put netting over to keep the chickens off. In order to be frugal and green he suggested that we use up one of the old tins of paint left by the former house owners.  This was called 'Midnight jade'.  On completing it I realise that I now have a chicken run and veggie patch in claret and blue - the West Ham colours - the team he supports.  He says its just co-incidence how it turned out,   I'm not so sure.    Am I the only person who chickens and veg support a football team?

No WG I don't.  But so long as he doesn't expect me to grow colour themed veggies I'll go along with it.

Will the pumpkin be blue or is it just the seeds?
