Life-Guard........
« on: September 08, 2009, 12:24 »
Hi, I have a £5.00 Voucher towards 1 litre of Life-Guard, but as my hens are all fine at present, would be interested in folks' opinions on using the stuff, please.

Many thanks in advance,

Have to say have used this but no idea if it makes a difference. Never had a hint of ill health in my ducks but maybe that is just because they are healthy! Tend to use it occasionally during moult. Do always use it with my ducklings as they have slightly higher vitamin needs than chicks. They have always thrived but I have no proof that it makes any difference.

I do like the smell though. Makes me think it must be doing some good! ::)
Be like a duck. Calm on the surface but always paddling like the dickens underneath.

I have a voucher as well but as the product cost £17 in my local place I doubt if I will be purchasing it.

Thanks for the replies.
I had guessed it would be pricey - no-one gives £5.00 off otherwise - so will continue with ACV in their water and when it comes to moulting time, some tins of fishy cat food for the extra protein, I think.

whilst i was searching mareks which killed one of mine, i came across an article in the smallholder magazine, which was about a study of lifeguard carried out by the hampshire agricultural college,
they stated that their results found that it was very good at helping to contain coccidiosis, which is what killed 2 more of mine, after theie immune got suppressed by the mareks, so mine now have it on a regular basis, as it is apparently also good for helping moulting and stress.
