Planting Lemongrass

I put two sticks of lemongrass into a glass of water several weeks ago. They have taken root but i'm not sure how deep to plant them, does it matter?

deep anough so they dont fall over

they are not frost hardy so will need to be protected if outside

Thanks Ropster, I'm just gonna bung them into pots and keep them in the green house till spring.

From what i've read on here they are quite invasive so maybe just keep them in pots period, I dunno.

I've had a couple growing indoors for a few months now (same method, sprouted in water) and have about a dozen good stems between the 2... looking forward to first harvest!

Oh thats encouraging, will you be planting them outside in the spring?

I'm leaning towards keeping them in pots but we'll see nearer the time.

Can I assume that you are talking about shop bought lemon grass. I did not know that you could do that. I've struggled to grow these from seed as they seem to need a long warm growing season.
